Pellew St


Hi,

I’m trying to find out what happened to Pellew St. And where it was.

My Grandfather lived there 1911 census.

I cant find it on any maps-was it destroyed in ww2?

  1. Hello Perry,

    Pellew Street was situated off Ainsworth Street (no Relation) near to Coppers Hill. It was demolished in the 1960`s to make way for the Royal Mail Depot. The attached map of the area dates from 1843 and the other showing Lime Street Station is form 1911..

  2. I have been trying for years to find the street where I lived, Tong Street Liverpool. It seems from the maps above that it was previously called Pellew Street. Can you help me on this.

  3. Hello

    Pellew Street was named on maps in 1843, 1919 and 1929. Using Kellys directory for 1934 Tong Street was situated off Ainsworth Street so if may have been renamed.
